Anyone Need LED's?

My friends and I are working on building a gauss/coil gun. We are planning on adding some LED's. Anyway we found these. They are Red, which isn't ideal, but on the other hand who can pass up 2000 LED's for $20.

I just wanted to point out this deal in case you were interested in buying some LED's. They are on clearance and have been for about a month now so I don't know how long they will last.

Anyway. Lots of LED's.

The IPad 2 is Coming Soon

The IPad 2 is coming soon. For those of you that just bought an IPad, well, better luck next time.

NThe new IPad will feature the latest technology: the fastest processors, more memory. Additionally the IPad 2 will be only 2/3 the size of the new IPhone.

Apple has announced that it plans to release both the white and black versions of the IPad from day one. This should be nice to hear for all the Apple fanatics who waited for months while Apple attempted to push out a white IPhone.

The IPad 2, as I have stated will be thin. Really thin. As in 8.8 Millimeter's thin (Source: Gizmodo - The IPad 2 Is Thinner Than IPhone). This means that you could easily fit it into your pocket. Assuming you wear pants big enough to hold a tablet PC.

Additional rumors surround the IPad 2 (as they did with its predecessor). For example, one rumor is that the IPad 2 will include a magnetic lock that works with many cases. This would, when the case was closed, lock the software and hold the case closed. However, when opened, the IPad would automatically unlock itself (Source: Gizmodo - Will IPad 2 Have Magnetic Lock). Expect many more rumors to circulate about the IPad 2 before it is released.

The New Kevlar

Ijust read this article about a new form of Kevlar that has a liquid "custard" between each layer of the material. This allows for new body armor to be made that uses significantly less layers of Kevlar (about 1/3) then normal. This will allow troops to move more easily on the battlefield and will prevent them from overheating in combat areas such as Afganistan where the temperture is known to sore.

Our Dying World

It seems that the recent article I posted on birds falling from the sky is not a singular thing. On a recent post on his blog justsayin' posted about similar things occuring around the world.

I don't know about you but I have never of this before. Fireworks scaring thousands of birds and fish causing them to die? Yeah, sure. Sounds like theirs more that is going on that we don't know about.

Perhaps some weird disease or climate change is effecting how the birds and fish are living. This just doesn't sound good.

Feel free to post your opinions in a comment below and if you see anything more about this I'm interested and am looking for more information. So post something on your blog or leave a comment somewhere and maybe we can figure out what is killing all the birds.

Programming Updates

Geomatrix 2 - Geomatrix has been and will be on hold for a while. I have run into problems with Attack of the Red Spiders and thus need to improve that. Additionally, I am attempting to get "The Projects" to a running copy sometime within the next three weeks.

Attack of the Red Spiders - It's coming, but not fast. We are trying to make it perfect and that takes time. Can't say when we will have a playable beta out but it could be soon... or it could be a long time.

The Projects - This is just a quick program I'm working on in Esenthel. Hopefully I can use this as a beginning to creating a Glitch remake. The game is originally going to just be a quick free running game with less features then you want and worse graphics (esenthel should help us with that a little though).

Other - Their are a few other things I am tinkering with at the moment. None of them seriously: A Descent remake, an RTS, an MMO, an FPS. I doubt I will ever complete any of these.

Anyway, thats the update on what going on with my programs.

Breaking News: Republicans take over and plan to make Obama's work dissapear. This is going to be an annoying 2 years. Why is it that we always elect the people who are more concerned about their pockets then their country? Seems silly to me.

Bird Droppings

Wildlife officials are trying to determine what caused more than 1,000 blackbirds to die and fall from the sky over an Arkansas town.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said Saturday that it began receiving reports about the dead birds about 11:30 p.m. the previous night. The birds fell over a 1-mile area of Beebe, and an aerial survey indicated that no other dead birds were found outside of that area.

Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said the birds showed physical trauma, and she speculated that "the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail."

The commission said that New Year's Eve revelers shooting off fireworks in the area could have startled the birds from their roost and caused them to die from stress.

Robby King, a wildlife officer for the agency, collected about 65 dead birds, which will be sent for testing to the state Livestock and Poultry Commission lab and the National Wildlife Health Center lab in Madison, Wis.

Rowe said that similar events have occurred elsewhere and that test results "usually were inconclusive." She said she doubted the birds were poisoned.
